D's Pfeil

I can't think of anyone who's built more bad ass models of this then my good dA friend DelosQAndrews.  Check out his gallery at delosqandrews.deviantart.com/ to see a number of great interpretations of this iconic aircraft!

Since the Mrs. and boys were away today at a marching band competition, I took the opportunity to travel to the Smithsonian's Udvar-Hazy Center with my Nikon.  I took something like 270 shots of the aircraft, including a lot of detail shots of aircraft that I have in the model stash.  This Do 335 Pfeil is the only one left in the world.  It was actually a prototype, captured by the US at the end of WWII.

Of course the toughest part about taking pictures in an aircraft museum is the lighting (often very poor) and all of the obstacles in the way.  You couldn't really get close to this Pfeil, but still, it's amazing to see one of these babies!
