Fury Project

Description

So, this endeavor has encompassed about all of my 2015 modeling efforts.  Since seeing Fury back in October of 2014, I said (rather foolishly) "I can build that."  So, after spending more money than I care to admit in public, I embarked on this adventure back in February.  Progress has been extremely slowwwwwwww........  I often lose motivation, and leave it alone all week.  What really kicked my butt is not pictured - I bought a set of AFV 1/35 T-84 treads, like the ones used in the movie Sherman (although in reality, most WWII M4A3E8 Shermans did not use the T-84 treads, they were more common in Korean War Shermans).  Those tracks took me the better part of 2 months to complete, and this weekend, I realized the treads were not aligned properly at all - I had to redo several of them just to make sure they were all aligned in the same direction (rather basic concept that escaped me as I was putting them together).

Pictured here you see the Tamiya 1/35 M4A3E8 "Easy Eight" Sherman, which is actually a reboxing of the Tasca Easy Eight Sherman.  Released in March of this year is the Legend 1/35 M4A3E8 1945 Update set, a really nice resin update with photo etch, decals, cardboard K ration boxes - almost everything you need to add the stowage, logs and decals to depict the movie version Sherman.  Also purchased are the really nice 1/35 Bravo Six figures to make up the crew.  Unfortunately, my figure painting skills are not that great, so we'll see how they turn out.  I also picked up uniform decals for the crew's rank and units, and a really cool Archer transfers air recognition panel.  I also just got (in the mail now) an aftermarket 1/35 tow cable.  I also have some 1/35 scale rope, as well as "mud in a pot" to make the tank nice and dirty.

I'll be luck if I finish this project sometime this year....

I'm working on that same project myself, without the crew figures of course, way out of my budget.
